Metal Halide Bulbs are Facing Tough Competition from LED Omni Cob Bulbs

As many of you know,  there are many different types of bulbs that come in various shapes and sizes. The most common light bulb I come across on a day to day basis is the Metal Halide bulb. You will find Metal Halides in outdoor wall packs, indoor high bays, outdoor flood lights and commercial down lights, automotive headlights, etc… On average these lamps have a luminous efficiency of about 5 times that of Incandescent lights and can have an operating life up to 15,000 hours.

As time progresses, manufacturers continue to develop new technology that will improve lighting efficiency. At this point in time LED (Light Emitting Diode) is the lighting solution for efficiency. When I began working in the lighting industry a year ago there were only a few companies that actually produced LED light bulbs. Not to mention that they were extremely expensive. Now, almost every manufacturer produces LED light bulbs and at a decent price point.

My personal favorite manufacturer for  LED Metal Halide replacements is  ARVA Lighting. Locating an efficient LED replacement for a 400 watt Metal Halide lamp was unheard of at one point. ARVA Lighting pushed the envelope and made this possible with their  Hylite Omni-Cob selection.  Their LED Omni-Cob 400 watt replacement uses only 100 watts of electricity and produces 13,550 lumens with 50,000 to 60,000 operating life hours. This is 1/4 the power being used for a standard Metal Halide and roughly 4 times the life hours per usage. This is a great point I tend to display with customers, because with reduced energy being used means there will be more money being saved on a monthly basis.

These lamps are made with high grade commercial users in mind. These are not cheap imports you see in the marketplace. Watch the video on the ARVA Hylite bulb

Designed for reliability and optimal performance, the HyLite LED Omni-Cob Bulb features superior optics to increase visibility and security through even illumination with 360° of light. With its Proprietary-Designed Integrated Heat Sink and Advanced Thermal Management System, the HyLite Omni-Cob bulb reliably lasts up to 17 years at an on-time of 10 hours/day. The HyLite LED Omni-Cob bulb significantly reduces energy use, maintenance costs, and environmental impact while providing the highest quality of light.

Surprisingly not many consumers are aware of the benefits of LED light bulbs. However, once people hear that they can save a lot of money by simply switching their light bulbs they tune in. Working at Atlanta Light Bulbs gives me the pleasure of presenting new technology like this to customers. We are a knowledgeable one stop shop for all lighting solutions and unlike many others, we can get the hard to find stuff.

So if you are ready to switch from metal halide bulbs to LED corn cob style bulbs please give myself or one of my team members a call! 1-888-988-2852
