Since incorporation in 1981, Atlanta Light Bulbs President & CFO Gary Root began supplying lamps and ballasts to commercial and industrial customers in the Atlanta metropolitan area from a humble garage. Pacing its growth with the dramatic growth of the Atlanta area, Atlanta Light Bulbs experienced a significant increase in the demand for lamps, ballasts, and specialty light bulbs.

By the early 1990s, the company relocated to a larger facility, featuring a lighting showroom and warehouse space. This new warehouse space stocked the ever expanding and diversifying lighting inventory demanded by the growing customer base: printing lamps, projector lamps, medical lamps, European bulbs, dental lamps, fixtures, and lighting installations.

Atlanta Light Bulbs became a leader in lighting the local skyline through its competitive prices and ability to source globally. In 1998, the launch of AtlantaLightBulbs.com enabled the company to provide its vast product knowledge, inventory, and value to a national and international market. One of the first companies in Atlanta to offer its inventory and services online, alongside the launch of the BulbMatrix, Atlanta Light Bulbs grew into a premier online lighting supplier.

Atlanta Light Bulbs has experienced double-digit growth for 10 consecutive years. Focused on expanding its ability to serve customers throughout the US and abroad, Atlanta Light Bulbs acquired Bulbman, Inc., a leader in lighting retrofits, and Northwestern Lighting Supply. In 2008, Atlanta Light Bulbs acquired its current 20,000+ square foot facility to streamline services for its ever-growing customer base.

The Atlanta Light Bulbs facility houses corporate offices, wholesale counter and sales division, national and international sales divisions, regional sales divisions, distribution center, and a state of the art lighting showroom that allows customers to test and view emerging products and technologies.
